Severe storms, possible tornadoes and a hard freeze in store for MS

Hattiesburg, MS ‌- Severe thunderstorms, potential tornadoes, and a notable‌ hard freeze are forecast for Mississippi over the coming days, according‌ to the national Weather Service.

The unsettled weather begins Friday, with a 40% chance of showers and possible ​thunderstorms after noon, and a high near ‌80. Friday night carries a 30% chance of continued⁤ showers‌ and thunderstorms, with a low around 61.

Saturday will be ‍mostly sunny with a high near ⁢82, before a⁣ 20% chance of showers⁢ returns after midnight, with a low ‍around 54. Sunday will be sunny, but cooler, with a high near 65 and⁤ north-northwest winds of 10 to 15 mph, gusting as⁢ high as 20 ​mph.

A dramatic temperature​ drop⁣ is expected Sunday night,with a clear sky and a low around 36. Monday will remain sunny,but considerably colder,with a high ⁣near‍ 52 and a low around 31‌ Monday night.Veterans Day ⁤is forecast ⁢to be sunny with a high near 60.

A separate forecast for Wednesday indicates patchy fog before 9 a.m., otherwise sunny, with a ⁣high near 79. wednesday night will‌ see patchy⁤ fog after 9 p.m., with ⁢a low around 50.‍ Thursday‌ is expected to be sunny with a high near 79,followed by a partly cloudy Thursday night with a low around ‌59. Friday again brings a ⁣40% chance of showers and thunderstorms after⁣ 9 a.m., with a high near 81. Friday night has a⁤ 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a low around 63. Saturday will be mostly sunny with a ​high near 83, and a 20% chance of showers after​ midnight ⁤with a low around 60. Sunday will be sunny with a high near 71, and a low around 40 Sunday night. Monday will ⁤be sunny with a‍ high near 56, and a low around 31‍ Monday night. Veterans Day‌ will be ​sunny with a high near 61.
