Antwerp’s AFAS Dome to Host The Neighbourhood Following Unprecedented Ticket Demand
Due to overwhelming presale demand, The Neighbourhood’s upcoming Belgian concert has been upgraded to the AFAS Dome in Antwerp, moving from its original Forest National location. The American dark pop/indie rock band will now perform at the larger venue on Wednesday, May 13.
The relocation reflects the immense popularity of The Neighbourhood, propelled by their 2012 breakthrough hit “Sweater Weather” and the recent release of their fifth album, ‘(((((ultraSOUND)))))’. The band’s devoted fanbase quickly tired initial ticket allocations, necessitating the move to accommodate more attendees. This shift ensures more fans can experience the band’s evolving sound and signature aesthetic live.
Formed in 2011, The Neighbourhood-comprising Jesse Rutherford (vocals), Zach Abels (guitar), Jeremy Freedman (guitar), Mikey Margott (bass), and Brandon Fried (drums)-has cultivated a distinctive style blending pop, rock, and hip-hop elements. Their visual identity, historically defined by black and white imagery, is undergoing a subtle conversion, reflected in the artwork and lyrical themes of ‘(((((ultraSOUND)))))’.
Rutherford notes this evolution, stating, “Everything used to be black and white, now it’s gray.” the album features tracks like “OMG,” “lovebomb,” and “Private,” offering a preview of the band’s nuanced and mature sound. Tickets for the AFAS Dome performance are expected to be in high demand.
