USF Football’s Historic Season Celebrated with ESPN Coverage, Fan Enthusiasm
TAMPA, FL – November 7, 2025 – The University of South Florida Bulls’ remarkable 2025 football season, culminating in national recognition on ESPN, was celebrated today with a spirited event on campus. Thousands of fans gathered to honor the team’s breakout performance and express their excitement for the program’s future.
The festivity underscores a pivotal moment for USF Athletics, marking a significant leap forward in visibility and fan engagement. The bulls’ success this season has not only energized the student body and alumni but has also positioned the university as a rising force in college football, attracting attention from recruits and national media outlets. The event served as a platform to acknowledge the contributions of players, coaches, and the dedicated fanbase that fueled the team’s ascent.
Fans showcased their support with creative signs, including one declaring them the team’s “12th man” and another touting quarterback Byran Brown as a Heisman Trophy contender. The atmosphere was electric as the Herd of Thunder band performed, USF spirit squads energized the crowd, and fans participated in a pull-up challenge, with a top performance reaching 27 repetitions.
“The college football world has been watching us,” said junior dylan Baez.”They know we are the next big thing and have the best fans.”
The event also recognized key figures in USF Athletics’ growth,including Rob Higgins,the program’s frist-ever CEO,who received a hero’s welcome reminiscent of a professional wrestling star. Head football coach Alex Golesh took the stage for a live interview, further amplifying the excitement surrounding the program.
USF’s football program began competing in Division I-A (now FBS) in 2001 and joined the American Athletic Conference in 2013. The team recently transitioned to the American Athletic Conference in july 2023. This season’s success represents a new chapter for the Bulls, building on years of investment and dedication to elevate the program to national prominence.
