Bratislava‌ – Minister Taraba signed a memorandum with Takač on ‌October 18, 2025, outlining plans to bolster Slovak ⁢food self-sufficiency​ and leverage the nationS agricultural ‍potential. the agreement ‍includes ⁤support for infrastructure construction, according to statements made by Taraba.

This initiative arrives as ‍Slovakia navigates complex energy challenges. Despite ‍generating only 0.02 percent⁢ of its electricity‌ from wind power, the country possesses a ​significantly larger potential capacity -⁤ up to a hundred ​times more than currently utilized. Energetika Slovensko, encompassing ZSE and VSE, incorporates just 2 ⁤percent wind energy into its ⁢overall electricity mix.

Katarína Šulíková, ‌a spokeswoman for energetika Slovensko,‌ explained that the electricity ‍mix reflects the⁢ output of​ their suppliers and purchasing​ decisions. ⁤While some politicians and citizens⁤ express opposition to ⁣wind energy, energy experts suggest a viable buisness case exists, with foreign producers already supplying wind power ⁢to Slovakia.
