President Trump Criticizes Democratic strategy
Donald Trump has renewed his attacks on Democrats, blaming them for what he calls the “longest shutdown in history.” speaking to republican senators at the White House, the President stated, “they are kamikazes, they are sending the country to ruin.” This comes as the shutdown officially entered its 36th day, exceeding the duration of the 2018-2019 shutdown and setting a new record for the longest federal government closure in US history.
Repeated Senate Rejections of funding Resolution
The Senate, on Tuesday, rejected a Republican resolution aimed at securing funding for the federal government for the 14th time.The resolution, which had previously been approved by the House of Representatives, failed to garner the necessary 60 votes to pass. Despite ongoing behind-the-scenes negotiations,a bipartisan agreement remains elusive.
Potential Air Travel Disruptions loom
If the shutdown persists, the Federal Aviation Management (FAA) is preparing to reduce air traffic by 10% at the 40 busiest U.S. airports, beginning this Friday. This reduction could lead to meaningful delays and disruptions for travelers across the nation.
Declining Support for President Trump
Public support for Donald Trump is demonstrably waning, according to a recent poll conducted by the Washington Post, ABC News, and Ipsos. The poll reveals that 59% of Americans disapprove of the President’s performance, while only 41% approve. A majority of respondents believe President Trump has exceeded the constitutional limits of his office.
October Employment Figures Show Growth
Despite the ongoing political turmoil, the US labor market continues to show signs of strength. According to the latest report from ADP, private sector employment increased by 42,000 jobs in October. Wages also experienced year-over-year growth, rising by 4.5%.
