## Thomson Reuters Enhances CoCounsel Legal with Agentic Workflows⁤ & Customization

Thomson Reuters is expanding the capabilities of its CoCounsel Legal AI platform with new features ⁤focused on automating complex legal⁤ tasks and enabling customized workflows. These enhancements aim to transform document-intensive ⁤processes commonly found in both transactional and litigation legal ‌work.

The rollout will occur in two phases, ‍progressively increasing ‍the autonomy and flexibility offered to legal⁣ professionals. The initial⁢ phase will see CoCounsel ⁤Legal independently plan and execute multi-step legal workflows based on ⁣simple prompts. The AI ‍will ⁣leverage Thomson Reuters’ authoritative Westlaw ⁣and Practical Law content, alongside a firm’s existing institutional knowledge, to determine the ⁣optimal approach and complete the requested task – from initial analysis to document ‍creation.

The second phase introduces a customizable workflow builder, allowing legal professionals to create, save, and share⁤ their own tailored workflows⁤ within cocounsel Legal. This ‍feature will capitalize on Thomson Reuters’ trusted content and solutions, as well as the firm’s internal knowledge base, fostering the progress of repeatable‌ processes and ensuring consistency across teams. It’s designed to capture and reuse‌ institutional best practices.

“These features are ⁣distinguished not only by *what* they do, but *how* they do it,” stated a company representative. “They empower legal professionals to ⁢move beyond pre-built solutions and create personalized, repeatable workflows where cocounsel autonomously plans and executes the necessary steps using our solutions and authoritative content.”

These ‌new capabilities are being introduced through early beta programs and will become broadly available in the coming months. Further enhancements to Thomson Reuters’ legal solutions,‌ including updates to Deep Research, litigation ‌Document Analyzer, and new guided workflows from ⁢Practical Law, will begin⁤ rolling out to customers in November ‍2025. More‍ details can be found in the CoCounsel Legal Monthly ‍Insider on the Thomson Reuters Innovation‍ Blog.

Thomson Reuters will demonstrate‍ these new features, including ‍its future roadmap and⁣ the recently announced Deep Research on Practical Law beta, at the SYNERGY 2025⁣ Legal Professionals conference in Orlando, Florida, from November 9-12, 2025.
