Rico Nasty surprised concertgoers at Paramore‘s Kia Forum show in Los Angeles on November 8, joining Hayley Williams onstage to perform “Misery Business.” The unexpected collaboration marked a high-energy moment during Paramore’s headlining concert.
The appearance comes as both artists continue to navigate evolving musical landscapes. Paramore, fronted by Williams, remains a cornerstone of the pop-punk genre, while Nasty is known for her genre-bending blend of rap, punk, and R&B.This performance highlights a cross-generational connection and mutual respect between artists pushing creative boundaries. Nasty recently released her third studio album, Ego Death at the Bachelorette Party, and Williams surprise-released the R&B-inflected single “Good Ol’ Days” last month.
Following the performance, rico Nasty described the experience to Billboard as deeply personal.”It was an amazing experience. And it felt like, I don’t know, my inner child really jumped out.and I hadn’t seen her in a while. Like I hadn’t seen her in a while on stage.I hadn’t seen her in a while backstage, like amongst the team like that. So I was like, ‘Wow, like this feels nice.’ And then I got to talk to Hayley.”
Williams’ recent musical output includes the release of 17 songs from Ego Death at the Bachelorette Party as individual singles via an old-school web player in July, followed by the official album title reveal and the song “Parachute” in August. The physical album is scheduled for release on November 7, and will include “Good Ol’ Days” and one additional unannounced track.
