in a surprising turn of events, Danielle adn Pasha Pashkov were eliminated from Dancing with the Stars following Rock & Roll Night, despite strong performances from other couples.The show, briefly interrupted by ABC News election coverage, ultimately saw the pair sent home in a decision that appeared to catch many off guard.
this week’s competition saw several high scores and memorable performances. Xochitl Sosa and Val Chmerkovskiy earned a 38 out of 40 for their jazz routine to Ike and Tina Turner’s “River Deep - Mountain High,” prompting Carrie Inaba to exclaim, “You’re ballsy! You’re ballsy and you take the risk and this one paid off.” Robert Irwin and Witney Carson also received a 38 for their paso doble to The White Stripes’ “icky Thump,” with Derek hough declaring, “You didn’t just dominate, you owned this arena!”
The team dance round featured Team Kool, with Julianne Hough joining the group for a performance to “Celebration” by Kool and the Gang, and Team Chicago dancing to “25 or 6 to 4” by Chicago – both bands performing live. Team Chicago secured a perfect 40 out of 40, earning praise from Flava Flav who declared, “Team Chicago is the bomb diggity, baby!” Team Kool followed closely with a 38 out of 40, described by Flav as “cooler than four blocks of ice cubes.”
Leavitt and Ballas, along with Earle and Chmerkovskiy, were tied at the top of the leaderboard and secured immunity from next week’s dance challenge based on having the highest total judges’ points of the season.
