Denver Freshman Julia Saxman Earns Summit league Swimmer of the Week honors
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - University of Denver swimming freshman Julia Saxman has been recognized as the Kwik Star Summit League WomenS Swimming Peak Performer of the Week, the league announced Tuesday. The award acknowledges Saxman’s outstanding performance in recent dual meets against Washington State and at Idaho.
Saxman’s strong showing marks a significant early achievement in her collegiate career and underscores Denver’s rising talent in the Summit League. The Wisconsin native secured four event wins over the weekend, highlighted by a 200-fly time that ranks sixth in program history. Her times in both the 100-fly and 200-fly currently lead the Summit League this season. This is Saxman’s first weekly honor from the conference.
The Pioneers will now pause competition for the month of November, preparing for the 2025 Minnesota Invite – thier first championship-style meet of the year. The three-day event is scheduled to begin on Thursday, December 4, and conclude on december 6.
