Angela Bassett Welcomes Ariana Grande too ‘American Horror story’ Universe
los Angeles, CA – Veteran actress Angela Bassett has offered a vote of confidence to Ariana Grande as the singer-actor joins the cast of the upcoming 13th season of FX’s American Horror Story. Bassett, a celebrated figure within the franchise for her portrayal of Marie Laveau in Coven, shared her thoughts on Grande’s casting during a red-carpet appearance at the LACMA Art + film Gala on November 1.
The addition of Grande to American Horror Story marks her second collaboration with producer Ryan Murphy, following her role in 2015’s Scream Queens. While details surrounding the new season remain largely under wraps, speculation is rife among fans that it may revisit the popular Coven storyline. Bassett’s comments come as anticipation builds for the potential return of several AHS alumni alongside Grande, including Sarah Paulson, kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Gabourey Sidibe, and Evan Peters.
“Ariana has been at it for quiet a while,” bassett told Variety. “I’ve had the pleasure of meeting her – she’s a delightful human being. I think she’ll be just fine. She’s a hard worker, obviously. Very talented. She doesn’t need any advice from me.”
Bassett’s remarks quickly circulated on social media, fueling excitement about the possibility of the two actresses sharing screen time should she reprise her role in the rumored final season. Grande’s schedule is currently packed, having recently completed filming Focker In-Law and preparing for the November 21 premiere of Wicked: For Good, and also gearing up for her Eternal Sunshine Tour beginning in 2024.
