CARY,N.C. (november 1, 2025) – The Howard University womenS cross country team secured its 2025 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championship title today, dominating the competition at WakeMed Park. This victory marks a significant achievement for the Bison program and solidifies their position as a leading force in the MEAC.
The Bison’s triumph was fueled by an exceptional performance, with five athletes earning All-MEAC honors by finishing within the top 15. This championship win not only brings prestige to Howard University but also guarantees the team an automatic berth to the NCAA regional competition, offering a platform to compete on a national stage.
Leading the charge was freshman Alexis Jones, who was crowned MEAC Outstanding Performer after completing the race in a winning time of 17:49.10. Teammate Mira Martin closely followed, finishing as the runner-up with a time of 18:18.70.
Sophomores Tiffany Mugubi and Ester Kirk contributed to the team’s success, securing eighth and ninth place respectively, clocking in at 18:58.90 and 19:00.00. junior Sarah Seam rounded out the top five Bison finishers, earning 14th overall with a time of 19:22.60.
Kendall Robinson, also a sophomore, narrowly missed All-MEAC recognition, finishing 19th at 19:34.80.Norfolk state finished second in the team standings, while north Carolina Central took third.
