Melek Minca, the widow of a man killed ⁣in a 2019 high-profile hit-and-run incident involving Romanian‍ footballer Mario Iorgulescu, has publicly disclosed that she transformed an initial compensation payout of 300,000 euros into a fortune exceeding one million‍ euros through ‍savvy investments and business ventures. The revelation, shared on⁣ TikTok, has sparked debate⁢ regarding the ethics of profiting from tragedy and the complexities of grief and financial recovery.

Approximately 18 months after her husband’s death, Minca received the 300,000 euro sum as insurance compensation. Initially hesitant, ⁢she accepted the funds ​after being encouraged​ by her⁢ father and father-in-law, fearing the money might be ⁣retracted if she refused. ‍ Minca explained her⁣ decision,stating,”Anyone,if they were in my place…the insurance offered me this money,right? Anyone would⁢ have taken it.” she‌ further detailed her concerns at the time: “I was afraid ⁤that they would remove me from the file.”
