Toronto – A Game 6 World Series contest between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Los Angeles Dodgers was temporarily halted Friday night when a fan ran onto the field at Rogers Center during the sixth inning.
The individual, carrying an American flag, sprinted across the playing surface before being tackled by security. Security personnel dislodged the flag from the fan’s grasp prior to it being fully unfurled. The interruption drew a mixed reaction from the crowd, with both cheers and boos audible as the fan was escorted off the field.
The incident caused a delay in play. Major League Baseball’s fan code of conduct prohibits disruptive behavior, including entering the field of play. The code requires fans to behave respectfully and avoid actions that interfere with the game.
