Puerto Rico’s Premier elvis Tribute Artist, Luis Enrique González, and Partner Elsa Velázquez Celebrate a Year of Accolades with New Vegas-Inspired Show
San Juan, Puerto Rico – Luis Enrique González, a celebrated Elvis Presley tribute artist from caguas, Puerto Rico, is preparing to launch “Viva The King Elvis Presley Tribute: A Vegas Experience” at the luis A. Ferré Fine Arts Center. The show aims to recreate the iconic artist’s 1969-1976 residency at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, where Presley performed a total of 636 shows.
González, also a vocalist and guitarist for the bands Sonosphere and The Cadillacs, is deeply committed to honoring elvis’s full musical legacy. According to Velázquez, his partner, “Every time I mention his name and talk about his projects… and not only about Elvis, but also about his original music.Because he has always been very jealous of his original work and not losing its essence.”
The upcoming performance will feature classics like “Suspicious Minds,” “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” “burning Love,” and “Viva las Vegas.” Velázquez, a journalist who also actively supports gonzález’s career, detailed her involvement: “I am the one who does his makeup. I work with the costumes, I assist him and the musicians. I like when there are shows like this type, to attend them, because there are many things happening before getting on stage. There is a lot of love and complicity.”
2025 has proven to be a landmark year for the couple. González was featured in The World of Elvis Tribute Artists 2025, a global compendium of Elvis tribute performers, and received the Saint Gregory Award from the Music Hall of Fame in recognition of his career.”This year has been very nice. A couple of very cool things have happened to us and we want to close with a flourish at the Bellas Artes,” González stated. Velázquez added, “It has been a year of transformation for both of us,” noting her recent joining of the wapa televisión team.
