D66 leader Rob Jetten is calling on other political leaders to move past partisan conflict and collaborate in forming a new Dutch government, following elections where his party emerged as the largest in parliament but with an uncertain seat total of 26 or 27.
The outcome leaves the path to a governing coalition unclear,with the VVD hoping a final seat allocation will prevent the need for a complex,multi-party agreement. Jetten emphasized the need for a shift in approach, stating, “Voters wont us to stop with political fuss and really put our shoulders to the wheel together.” He intends to initiate discussions with various party leaders to encourage cooperation.
