: Fuad Char Remains Optimistic About Junior’s Liga II Title Chances

Barranquilla, Colombia – Junior‌ de Barranquilla’s shareholder, Fuad Char Abdala, affirmed ‍that head coach Alfredo⁣ Arias will remain with teh club ⁤despite a recent disappointing loss, and confirmed ‌Arias is under contract‌ through June 30, 2026. ‍The statement comes after Junior fell short in a crucial match last Wednesday at the ​Roberto Meléndez Metropolitan Stadium, sparking speculation about potential coaching changes.

Char abdala acknowledged the painful defeat, stating, “Yesterday’s⁤ result was very painful, very sad for us, for the people, for all the team’s fans, but, well, it was⁤ one of those games where we came up twenty times and didn’t score. we had many opportunities. One minute before they made it 2-1⁣ to one of them, we had two ⁣or three opportunities to score.⁢ But hey,‌ that’s football.” He dismissed rumors⁢ circulating⁢ on ‌social media ‌regarding Arias’s position, emphasizing regular meetings with ‌the coach ‌to discuss game performance and future plans.

Char clarified that he‌ met Thursday with Arias, his son​ Antonio ‌Char, president of ⁣junior, and club manager Hector Fabio Baez, reiterating Arias’s contractual security.”No, not at all, ‌we are not thinking that. He has a contract with us until next year, until June ⁤30. We hope to enter among the eight and put up a fight,” Char stated. ​
