Juventus Appoints Luciano Spalletti as New Head Coach
Turin,Italy – Juventus has named Luciano Spalletti as its new head coach, the club announced today. The agreement with the 66-year-old Italian manager runs through the end of the current season.
Spalletti takes the reins after the departure of Croatian coach Igor tudor, who was released earlier this week. He returns to Juventus having previously managed the Italian national team for less than two years,a stint that ended in June following a disappointing start to the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.
The appointment brings a proven winner to Turin. Spalletti led Napoli to their first serie A title in 33 years in 2023, and boasts a decorated career managing several prominent Italian clubs including Empoli, Sampdoria, Venezia, Udinese, Ancona, AS Roma, and Inter Milan. He also has experience abroad, having managed Zenit St. Petersburg.
Throughout his career, Spalletti has secured two italian Cup titles, the Italian Super Cup with Roma, and two Russian Championships with Zenit, along with a Russian Cup and Russian Super Cup victory.
Juventus currently sits seventh in Serie A with 15 points from nine games, trailing league-leading Napoli by six points. The club also faces an uphill battle in the Champions League, currently ranked 25th out of 36 teams after two draws and a loss in their opening three matches.
