Paris, France – October 30, 2025 – Kaamelott 2, the long-awaited sequel to the beloved French television series, has surged to the top of the box office despite garnering fewer initial admissions than its predecessor. The film debuted with 2.2 million entries, falling short of the 2.6 million achieved by the first Kaamelott film in 2023.
The discrepancy in opening numbers underscores a shift in audience engagement, even as the franchise maintains significant cultural relevance. While the first film benefited from pent-up demand following the series’ conclusion in 2009, the sequel faces a different landscape-a more fragmented entertainment market and a potentially saturated audience already familiar with the world of King Arthur’s Round Table as reimagined by Alexandre Astier. The success of Kaamelott 2 nonetheless demonstrates the enduring appeal of the series and its ability to draw large crowds.
Beyond Kaamelott 2, several othre films have made notable showings at the box office. Chainsaw Man – The movie: Reze’s Arc secured the fifth position with 190,000 entries, tying with Gabby and the Magic House – The movie at the same number. The little one followed closely with 180,000 admissions, while The shrinking man and Arco both recorded 160,000 entries. Rounding out the top ten, One battle after another garnered 155,000 admissions.
