Texas Michelin Stars Awarded to 18 Restaurants in 2025
HOUSTON – The Michelin Guide announced its 2025 Texas resturant selections Tuesday night, awarding Michelin stars to 18 establishments across the state. This marks the second year the guide has evaluated Texas dining, following its debut last fall, and recognizes a total of 140 restaurants with various distinctions.
Michelin’s star system-awarding one, two, or three stars-represents its highest honor, tho no Texas restaurant has yet received more than one star in either year of evaluation. The guide also recognizes ”Bib Gourmand” restaurants, offering excellent food at a reasonable price, and includes a list of “recommended” restaurants offering high-quality dining experiences.
This year, all seven Texas restaurants that held a Michelin star in 2024 retained their honors, and two new restaurants joined the one-star list.Additionally, 15 area restaurants previously recognized with a Bib Gourmand award maintained that status.
The 18 restaurants awarded a Michelin star in 2025 are:
* Celia Pellegrini, Este and suerte, Austin
* Elliot Wood, credence, Houston
* Chuck Charnichart, Barbs B Q, Lockhart.
“the Bib Gourmand is our award for great value, and highlights simple yet skilful cooking at an affordable price,” according to the Michelin website. Approximately 500 hospitality professionals attended the awards gala in Houston. In its inaugural Texas guide last year, Michelin highlighted 117 restaurants and awarded stars to 15.
