Kings Hold Off Sharks After Third-Period Comeback, 4-3
SAN JOSE, Calif. (October 28, 2025) – Brandt Clarke scored the game-winning goal with 6:40 remaining in regulation as the Los Angeles Kings defeated the San jose Sharks 4-3 Tuesday night at SAP centre.The victory extended the Kings’ point streak to six games (4-0-2).
Los Angeles built a 3-0 lead through two periods with goals from Corey perry (10:54 of the first), Jeff Malott (3:21 of the second), and Drew Doughty (6:43 of the second). Perry’s goal came after a shot grazed a San Jose player, hit the post, and was redirected by the forward. Malott scored on a rush, and Doughty capitalized from the right circle.
the Sharks mounted a furious comeback in the second and third periods.will smith scored at 15:33 of the second, assisted by Macklin Celebrini, and Philipp Kurashev followed at 17:16, assisted by William Eklund, to cut the deficit to 3-2.Alexander Wennberg tied the game at 3-3 at 4:48 of the third, assisted by Kurashev, just seconds after a Kings power play expired.
Clarke’s tiebreaking goal, a wrist shot from the right circle, proved to be the difference.
Darcy Kuemper stopped 37 of 40 shots for the Kings,while Yaroslav Askarov made 10 saves for the Sharks,who have now lost 10 consecutive home games dating back to last season (0-8-2). Joel Edmundson recorded two assists for Los Angeles. The Kings withstood a late sharks power play opportunity following an Edmundson delay of game penalty.
