Boston Businesses Can Now Upgrade Liquor Licenses, City to⁤ Host Workshop

BOSTON, MA – Beer and wine​ license holders in Boston ‍may soon⁤ be able ⁢to expand their offerings thanks to new state legislation, and​ the City is hosting a workshop to explain the process. The Boston Licensing ‍Board and Office of ‍Small ​Business will present a​ workshop on November 17 ⁣at 10 a.m. at bell In Hand Tavern (45 Union Street) detailing ⁢how​ businesses can ​upgrade to a non-transferable all-alcoholic beverages license.

As part‍ of the ‌Fiscal Year 2026 Massachusetts State‍ Budget,‍ the State Legislature authorized cities and⁣ towns across Massachusetts⁢ to allow​ these upgrades.The workshop will begin with a presentation from the Licensing⁢ Board, followed by ‌insights from Irene Li of Prepshift, who ⁢will discuss key considerations‍ for business owners contemplating the change.
