Title: Packers Defeat Steelers in Dominant Second Half Victory

by Alex Carter - Sports Editor

Jordan‌ love and Tucker Kraft powered the Green Bay Packers to a dominant ⁢35-19 victory over⁤ the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football, halting Aaron Rodgers’ pursuit of‍ a rare NFL milestone. The Packers exploded for 28 points in the second half, overcoming a 16-7 halftime ⁣deficit to secure their fifth win of‍ the season.

The win keeps the Packers (5-1-1) firmly in the NFC⁢ playoff picture, while the loss dents the Steelers’ (4-3) early-season momentum in the AFC North. Rodgers, facing his former team, fell short of becoming just the fifth quarterback in NFL history to defeat all 32 franchises.

Love ⁤finished the game with 29 completions on 37 attempts for 360 yards and ⁣three touchdowns, considerably outperforming Rodgers, who went 24-of-34 for 219⁢ yards and two touchdowns. Tight end ‍Tucker Kraft had a breakout ⁢performance, hauling ⁢in seven passes for a career-high 143 yards and two touchdowns, including a crucial score with 10:57 remaining in the ‍fourth quarter that extended Green bay’s lead to 29-19.

Green Bay’s second-half surge included five consecutive scoring drives, punctuated by field goals of 28 and 25 yards from ⁤brandon McManus. Despite a late touchdown from Pittsburgh’s⁣ Roman‌ Wilson ⁢- a 21-yard reception with under two minutes left – the Steelers’ two-point conversion attempt failed, and their subsequent onside⁣ kick was unsuccessful.⁢ Wilson led ‍the Steelers with 74⁢ receiving yards on four catches, while DK Metcalf added five receptions for 55 yards and a touchdown.

Love’s⁣ performance also saw him match a franchise record, completing⁤ 20 ⁣consecutive passes during the game -‍ a ⁤feat previously achieved by Packers legend Brett‍ Favre in 2007. The Packers will return home to host the Carolina Panthers (4-4) in Week 9, ⁤while the Steelers‍ will face the Indianapolis Colts (7-1) at home.
