Louvre Museum Hosts Concerts and Reading-Show Alongside Jacques-Louis David Exhibition
Paris, France - The Louvre Museum is enriching its retrospective exhibition celebrating the bicentenary of Jacques-Louis David’s death with a series of concerts and a unique reading-show experience. The events, beginning in november, aim to immerse audiences in the world of the artist known as the “director of the Revolution” and his pivotal role in organizing revolutionary ceremonies and festivals.
Director Benjamin Lazar has conceived a reading-show where David reflects on his life on the eve of his trial. The performance will feature actors Judith Chemla, Stanislas Roquette, and Arnaud Marzorati, accompanied by Marzorati’s ensemble, Lunaisiens, to bring this theatrical portrait to life.
Complementing the reading-show, a cycle of concerts will be held at the Auditorium through december 5th. Featured ensembles include Les Musiciens du Louvre, the Ostinato Orchestra, and Talens Lyriques, all performing works inspired by the themes of the Revolution and the Empire.
