Man Sentenced to 45 Years to Life for Decades-Long Pattern of Sexual Exploitation in Sacramento
SACRAMENTO,CA – A Sacramento County man was sentenced today to 45 years to life in state prison for a decades-long scheme involving the sexual exploitation of multiple victims,the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office announced. The sentence concludes a case marked by extensive investigation and harrowing testimony detailing a pattern of abuse spanning years.
The case highlights the enduring trauma inflicted by sexual predators and the commitment of local law enforcement to pursue justice for survivors, even in cases involving offenses committed long ago. The conviction and sentencing send a clear message that such predatory behavior will not be tolerated and that perpetrators will be held accountable, irrespective of the time elapsed.
Defendant Robert J. Reynolds, 68, was found guilty in November 2023 of multiple counts of sexual assault and lewd acts on a child. Evidence presented at trial revealed a disturbing pattern of grooming and abuse targeting vulnerable individuals over several decades. Investigators uncovered a series of incidents dating back to the 1980s, meticulously building a case against Reynolds despite the challenges posed by time and faded memories.
