Michigan State Football: Key Performances and Stats from Saturday’s Contest against Indiana
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Several Michigan State Spartans delivered notable performances in Saturday’s game against Indiana,marking key milestones and continuing strong seasons for individual players.
• Linebacker Jordan Hall recorded six tackles, extending his streak to three consecutive games with six or more stops and representing his fifth game this season achieving that mark in seven games played.
• Graduate defensive back Dontavius Nash registered his first tackle for loss as a Spartan, bringing his career total to 2.5 TFLs (1.0 at East Carolina last year, 0.5 in 2023). Nash also finished with five tackles, matching his Spartan high set last week against UCLA.
• Graduate defensive lineman Quindarius Dunnigan logged his first full 1.0 tackle for loss of the season, adding to his previous half TFLs against UCLA and Western Michigan. Dunnigan now has 6.0 TFLs in two seasons as a Spartan and 23.0 TFLs throughout his collegiate career, including 17.0 at Middle Tennessee State.
SPECIAL TEAMS
• Junior punter Ryan Eckley, a Ray Guy Award Watch List member, punted once for 50 yards. Junior quarterback Aidan Chiles made his collegiate punting debut with a 40-yard punt during a fourth-and-9 situation, narrowly missing pinning Indiana deep but resulting in a touchback.
• Eckley’s 50-yard punt brings his season total to 13 punts of 50+ yards and his career total to 57. He has averaged 50.0 or more yards per punt in five of seven games this season.
• Redshirt freshman Martin Connington was 2-for-3 on field goals, successfully making a 38-yarder and a 34-yarder in challenging windy and rainy conditions. He missed a 50-yard attempt. Connington is now 7-of-9 on field goals for the season, with both misses coming on attempts of 50+ yards (also missing a 56-yarder against USC).
• Connington’s two made field goals tied a season-high set against Boston College (9/6/25) and Youngstown State (9/13/25), while his three attempts were a season-high, surpassing the two attempts from the BC and YSU games. He finished with seven points, including a PAT, tying his second-highest scoring output of the season behind a season-best 11 points against Youngstown State and matching seven points against Boston college and USC (9/20/25).
