Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) is seeking a dedicated Philanthropy officer III to join the FSW Foundation team, focusing on donor engagement within Collier County. This annual contract position, based out of 7505 Grand Lely Drive, Naples, Florida, is a key role in securing vital financial support for the College.
The Philanthropy Officer III will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding high-net-worth individuals in Collier County. This includes managing a portfolio of existing donors and prospects, developing and executing effective fundraising strategies, and building lasting relationships to advance FSW’s philanthropic goals. Maintaining the highest ethical standards is paramount.
The ideal candidate will possess:
* A Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as non-profit management, marketing, communication, business, public administration, or educational administration.
* A minimum of five years of professional fundraising experience, with a preference for experience within a higher education setting. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
* Demonstrated experience working with high-capacity donors.
* A proven track record of success in major gift fundraising and campaign initiatives, alongside a history of organizational longevity.
* Remarkable interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
* A strong understanding of effective private fundraising strategies.
* Proficiency in utilizing donor technology platforms for research and record management.
* The ability to connect authentically with potential donors, effectively communicate the College’s vision, mission, and impact, and build relationships with diverse individuals.
* A extensive understanding and commitment to best practices throughout the entire donor lifecycle.
* Skill in delivering compelling written and verbal presentations, and the ability to interact confidently with management, the Board of Directors, donors, and community leaders.
* Strategic thinking skills, with the capacity to manage both overarching goals and the detailed steps required for success.
