Bouna Sarr, the Senegalese full-back who failed to establish himself during a four-year spell with FC Bayern Munich, is reportedly contemplating retirement.According to British portal “SportsBoom,” the 33-year-old is weighing up ending his career due to a persistent injury history.
Sarr joined Bayern from Olympique Marseille in October 2020 for around eight million euros, intended to add depth to the squad. However, he made only 33 appearances in four years, totaling 1,293 minutes of action. injuries repeatedly hampered his progress, preventing a breakthrough into the first team.
His contract with Bayern expired in the summer of 2024, leaving him without a club. Key injuries included a 63-day absence in 2022 due to a patellar tendon injury, which ruled him out of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar following a subsequent knee operation. A torn cruciate ligament in November 2023, requiring a six-month recovery, ultimately ended his time at Bayern and may now signal the end of his professional career.
