Britney Spears Addresses Ex’s Memoir Claims About Parenting

Britney Spears ‌Addresses Kevin Federline‘s Memoir, Accuses⁤ Ex-Husband of Profiting from “White Lies”

Los Angeles, ‍CA – ⁣Britney Spears has publicly responded ‍to allegations made in ex-husband Kevin federline’s recently ⁤released memoir, accusing him of profiting from “white‍ lies” that are causing⁤ her‌ personal harm. The Grammy‍ winner addressed the book in a lengthy social media post, defending her character and ‍expressing frustration over ‍continued scrutiny of her ⁣mental health‌ and personal life.

Spears and Federline were married in September 2004 ‌and divorced in 2006, sharing two sons, Jayden (19) and ⁤Preston (20). ⁣The response follows an interview with‍ The Hollywood Reporter where Federline stated his sons were “100 percent behind me telling‍ my story” and⁣ that⁢ their relationship with‍ spears is “fluid,” noting ‍they have visited ‌her.

In her⁤ post, Spears stated, “Trust me, those ⁣white lies in that book, they are going straight to the bank and I am⁢ the only one who ⁣genuinely gets‍ hurt ⁤here.” She also asserted her intelligence and desire for a private life over the past ‍five years, adding, “I speak on⁢ this because I ‍have had enough and any ⁤real woman would do‌ the same.” Spears also ‍indicated a shift in how she will manage visits⁤ with Federline, stating ⁣she will “let‍ them know when I am available” after noting he has only visited ⁤four⁤ times in⁣ the past five years.

Federline’s memoir expresses concern ‌that “this situation with Britney feels like it’s racing ⁤toward something irreversible,” and he told THR he believes observers can “kind ‍of see for themselves” what is happening in Spears’ life. He emphasized his desire for her happiness and⁤ health, stating, ⁤”All I really want is for her ‍to be happy and healthy, and I⁤ want her to be around for our kids… I’ve sounded the alarm. It’s⁢ become a situation that I need ⁤people‌ to start supporting my⁣ sons and their mother.”

Spears’ team released a statement prior to her personal response, claiming Federline and others are “profiting off her” especially now that child support payments have ended. ⁣The statement emphasized Spears’ focus on her sons’ well-being and referenced her own memoir, where she detailed her ‍personal ⁣journey.

The exchange ‍occurs following the⁤ termination of Spears’ 13-year ⁣conservatorship in ‍2021, a ⁢legal battle fueled by the #FreeBritney movement.
