Britney Spears Addresses Kevin Federline‘s Memoir, Accuses Ex-Husband of Profiting from “White Lies”
Los Angeles, CA – Britney Spears has publicly responded to allegations made in ex-husband Kevin federline’s recently released memoir, accusing him of profiting from “white lies” that are causing her personal harm. The Grammy winner addressed the book in a lengthy social media post, defending her character and expressing frustration over continued scrutiny of her mental health and personal life.
Spears and Federline were married in September 2004 and divorced in 2006, sharing two sons, Jayden (19) and Preston (20). The response follows an interview with The Hollywood Reporter where Federline stated his sons were “100 percent behind me telling my story” and that their relationship with spears is “fluid,” noting they have visited her.
In her post, Spears stated, “Trust me, those white lies in that book, they are going straight to the bank and I am the only one who genuinely gets hurt here.” She also asserted her intelligence and desire for a private life over the past five years, adding, “I speak on this because I have had enough and any real woman would do the same.” Spears also indicated a shift in how she will manage visits with Federline, stating she will “let them know when I am available” after noting he has only visited four times in the past five years.
Federline’s memoir expresses concern that “this situation with Britney feels like it’s racing toward something irreversible,” and he told THR he believes observers can “kind of see for themselves” what is happening in Spears’ life. He emphasized his desire for her happiness and health, stating, ”All I really want is for her to be happy and healthy, and I want her to be around for our kids… I’ve sounded the alarm. It’s become a situation that I need people to start supporting my sons and their mother.”
Spears’ team released a statement prior to her personal response, claiming Federline and others are “profiting off her” especially now that child support payments have ended. The statement emphasized Spears’ focus on her sons’ well-being and referenced her own memoir, where she detailed her personal journey.
The exchange occurs following the termination of Spears’ 13-year conservatorship in 2021, a legal battle fueled by the #FreeBritney movement.
