Diane Keaton‘s Family Expresses Gratitude ​for Outpouring of Support Following Actress’s Death

Los Angeles,​ CA – The family of Diane Keaton has released a statement ​thanking the public for the “remarkable messages​ of love and support” received ⁢following the actress’s death on October 11 at the age ⁢of​ 79. keaton passed away in California from pneumonia, according to a statement provided to Peopel magazine.

Keaton rose to prominence in the‍ 1970s with⁢ roles in The Godfather films and went on‌ to star in a string of successful movies ⁣including father of the Bride, Something’s Gotta give, First Wives Club, and Annie Hall, for ⁢which she won the Academy ⁣Award ⁣for Best Actress in⁢ 1978.

the⁢ family’s statement, published by People, requested that donations or support in Keaton’s memory be directed ​to local food banks or animal shelters, causes significant to the actress.

Tributes ⁢have poured in from Hollywood colleagues, including⁤ Goldie Hawn, Keaton’s First Wives Club co-star, who ‍described Keaton as leaving “a ​trail of fairy ‍dust, filled with ⁢particles of⁢ light and memories ⁤beyond creativity.” Bette Midler, also a First Wives Club cast member, called Keaton “brilliant, beautiful,⁢ extraordinary.”

Steve Martin, who appeared with keaton in Father of the Bride, shared ⁢a humorous​ exchange with the actress, recalling⁣ a magazine quote where Keaton ⁢playfully dismissed both​ him and Martin Short as⁤ “idiots.” Martin wrote, “Don’t know who first posted this, but it sums up our delightful relationship ‍with Diane.”

Throughout her five-decade career, Keaton also starred in⁢ The Family Stone, Because I Said So, And So It Goes, and numerous Woody Allen films, including play It again, Sam, ⁣ Sleeper, Love and Death, and Manhattan.She received three additional Academy Award nominations for Best Actress for ‌her performances in Something’s Gotta Give, Marvin’s⁤ Room, and Reds.

Keaton was also ‍widely recognized for her distinctive personal style,often featuring⁣ turtlenecks,hats,and thick-rimmed glasses – a look even referenced in the film Something’s Gotta Give.
