Green Car Bonus: Ministry Releases Citizen Tutorial as Platform Launch Imminent

Rome, Italy – A detailed tutorial outlining⁣ how⁤ citizens⁤ can⁤ access new incentives for ⁣electric vehicle purchases is⁣ now available from the⁤ Ministry of Ecological Transition‍ (MASE), ⁣ahead of the Sogei platform’s‍ launch in the ⁣coming days. The release⁢ addresses concerns about potential delays in the rollout of the‍ program, officially known as‍ the Electric Vehicle Bonus.

The platform, ⁢managed by Sogei, will ‍open for applications approximately 30 days after eligible vehicle operators (sellers ‌and dealers) completed‌ their registration on ‍September 23rd. The initiative, funded by ⁣the National Recovery and‌ Resilience ⁣Plan (PNRR) with a total budget of €597 million,⁢ aims to accelerate the ⁢adoption of electric ⁤vehicles and reduce emissions in urban areas. Funds will be available until June 30, ‍2026, or⁢ until the budget ⁢is exhausted.

The bonus offers‌ up to €11,000 for individuals residing in Functional Urban Areas (cities with over 50,000 inhabitants⁣ and surrounding commuting ‍zones), and up‍ to €20,000 for‍ microenterprises located in these ⁣same areas.

To qualify as an individual, applicants⁢ must meet the following criteria: residency within an ISTAT-defined Functional Urban Area; an ISEE⁣ value of €40,000 or less; eligibility for incentives on new M1 category electric vehicles; and a commitment⁤ to scrap a vehicle of the same category approved up to Euro 5 emission standards.

Microbusinesses must have a registered office within⁣ a Functional Urban⁢ Area, qualify for incentives on new N1 or N2 category electric commercial vehicles, and agree ⁤to scrap a vehicle⁤ of the same category meeting Euro 5 standards or lower.

“On Wednesday, October 15th,‍ a tutorial⁣ with instructions for citizens will be⁣ published. There is no delay with the new incentives for⁢ the ‍purchase of⁣ electric ⁢cars,”‌ a source within MASE‍ confirmed. The tutorial is expected‌ to provide a step-by-step‌ guide to navigating the Sogei platform and submitting a‍ triumphant application.
