Cártama Celebrates Thriving Youth Sports Scene with Annual Sports Parade
Cártama,Spain – A vibrant Sports Parade in the city’s sports City today showcased the breadth of athletic activity available to residents,drawing families and athletes of all ages. The event highlighted the participation of over 4,000 young athletes registered in municipal, agreed-upon, and local sports clubs.
The parade featured representatives from a diverse range of disciplines,including soccer,indoor soccer,volleyball,adapted sports,skating,table tennis,multisport programs,senior physical activity groups,athletics,trail running,pickleball,handball,caving,tennis,rhythmic gymnastics,basketball,crossminton,shorinji kempo,and cycling.
Mayor Jorge Gallardo and Sports Councilor Juan Antonio Vargas presented commemorative plaques to participating schools, clubs, and collaborating entities. Both officials emphasized the importance of early engagement in physical activity and the development of teamwork skills.
“Sport is an essential tool for the comprehensive development of our neighbors,” Gallardo stated. “Through the municipal sports schools program,agreed schools and sports clubs,we promote healthy lifestyle habits,sports values and coexistence.”
Following the parade,attendees enjoyed exhibitions and open days across various sports,alongside workshops designed for children. The event was organized by the Cártama City Council’s Sports area, with support from civil Protection and the Malacitana Animation Association, and sponsorship from Ambulances Ayón and aquarel.
