Paul Pierce DUI Arrest: Former Celtics Star Charged

Former NBA Star Paul Pierce‍ Arrested on Suspicion of DUI in Los Angeles

Los ​Angeles,CA⁤ – ⁤Former ⁢NBA player Paul ⁣Pierce‍ was arrested late Tuesday night on suspicion of driving under the⁤ influence on a los Angeles ⁢highway,according⁢ to a statement released by the California Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred on U.S. Highway 101 ⁢following an earlier multi-vehicle‍ collision that temporarily closed four lanes of the northbound traffic. ‍ Officers ⁤responding to the ‍initial crash reopened the lanes around 10:40 p.m. when thay ⁤discovered a range Rover‍ SUV ‌obstructing traffic.

Upon approaching the vehicle,officers found⁤ Pierce asleep at the ⁢wheel and observed indicators suggesting alcohol impairment. A subsequent DUI inquiry led to his arrest on⁤ a ‍misdemeanor charge.

The Los Angeles City⁣ Attorney’s office will ⁣review the case‌ for prosecution.​ attempts to reach Pierce​ for comment have been unsuccessful.

A Storied NBA ‌Career

Pierce‌ enjoyed ⁣a highly decorated 15-year⁤ career with the Boston Celtics,becoming a franchise icon. He also played for the Brooklyn Nets, Washington Wizards, and Los Angeles Clippers before retiring⁣ in 2017.

A‌ ten-time All-Star and the 2008 NBA Finals⁢ MVP, ⁤Pierce was inducted⁣ into the ⁣Naismith Memorial basketball Hall of ‍Fame⁢ in 2021, cementing his legacy as one of the ⁢game’s greats.

More⁤ recently,Pierce was known for his work ⁣as a co-host on the Fox ⁣Sports show “Speak,” which was cancelled in July 2025.
