Men’s Golf: Bucknell Invitational Tournament Preview

lewisburg, Pa. – The Bucknell men’s golf team concludes its fall season this weekend, hosting the bucknell Invitational Sunday through Tuesday at the Bucknell Golf⁢ Club.The three-day tournament ⁢will feature a competitive field as the Bison look to finish⁢ the fall strong before beginning their spring schedule in Febuary.

Bucknell‌ is aiming to add⁢ to its remarkable history at⁢ its home⁢ tournament, having won ‌the event⁤ seven times previously, including four consecutive titles from 2007-2010, as well as wins in 1981, 2003, and ⁤2004. ​Last year, the team finished fourth out of 18 teams, highlighted by a final-round score of 281, tied for the lowest round of the week.⁣

The ⁢Bison roster for the invitational ⁢includes Max Kuehn, Henry Bolster, and ⁤ Jaxon Brown in ‍the B group.

Bucknell’s fall season has been led by sophomore Ethan Hartman, who ⁤boasts a team-leading‌ scoring ⁢average of 73.5.Hartman has ‌recorded three under-par rounds and 10 ​of his 12 cards have been 75 or better. Sophomore andrew Pritsios (75.4), Ben Robbins (75.7), and ⁣Kuehn (76.1) round ​out the team’s⁤ top four averages.

At ⁤the Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational, Bucknell finished 17th ​with rounds of 304-292-299, with Pritsios leading the way with a T-48th⁣ finish (76-70-74). Pritsios’‌ second-round 2-under 70 was the low round of the fall ‍for any Bison⁣ player. The team began the season with a T-4th finish at​ the Colgate’s Alex Lagowitz Memorial, ‌where Hartman finished third with a ⁤2-under total‍ of 214 (71-71-72). Kuehn, a transfer⁢ from Samford, also secured a top-20 ⁤finish at Colgate ⁢(T-16th) with rounds of 71-74-74.

Bucknell returns both of its All-Patriot League ⁤honorees ⁤from‍ last​ year’s team,Hartman ⁤and Pritsios.The Bison finished T-4th at the 2023 Patriot League Championship.

Past Bucknell Invitational individual champions include Rob ‌Wagner (1981), Kyle Moran ‌(2004), Stuart Lindgren (2007), Jeff Pike (2008), Andrew Cohen (2009), and Dan Bernard (2012). Last year,⁤ Devin smith of Mount St. Mary’s won the individual title with a 3-under⁤ 207 (73-67-67), while
