Austin FC midfielder Owen Wolff has been recognized as one of Major League Soccer’s top young talents, earning the No. 4 spot on the 2025 MLS 22 Under 22 list. The proclamation came today from MLS,highlighting the league’s brightest players under the age of 22 as determined by a panel of experts.
This marks the third consecutive year Wolff has been included on the prestigious list, improving his ranking from No. 18 in 2023 and No. 17 in 2024. The MLS 22 Under 22 list is voted on by a panel comprised of MLS coaches, general managers, sporting directors, MLS Season Pass talent, and select media members.
Wolff currently leads Austin FC in goal contributions this season with 16 across all competitions (five goals, 11 assists) and has 63 key passes in MLS play. Notably,all five of his goals have been match-winners,and he is one game-winning contribution away from setting a new Club record for a single season. He has also been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday a team-high five times in 2025.
A pivotal figure for Austin FC, Wolff became the club’s first-ever Homegrown signing in September 2021 at the age of 16.He also holds the distinction of being the first Homegrown player to appear in a match for the Verde & Black, making his debut on November 3, 2021, in a 3-1 victory over Sporting Kansas City. To date, wolff has made 133 appearances for Austin FC, ranking sixth-most in club history.
