Navy Intercepts Weapons Cache, Tactical Gear in Sinaloa Operation
Escuinapa, Sinaloa - Mexican Navy personnel seized a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and tactical equipment following a vehicle pursuit in the municipality of Escuinapa, Sinaloa. the operation, conducted on Forest Island, resulted in the interception of a white Chevrolet double cab truck and the detention of its driver.
The seizure underscores ongoing efforts to counter organized crime in a region frequently challenged by cartel activity. The recovered materials – including five long weapons, 91 chargers, ammunition of various calibers, an improvised explosive device, and nine vests with tactical equipment – represent a significant disruption to potential illicit operations. The detained individual and the seized items have been turned over to the Federal Public Ministry for further investigation. Authorities have not yet reported whether the vehicle was stolen or if additional occupants were present. This operation forms part of a broader strategy by federal authorities to strengthen security in southern Sinaloa.
