Dallas Renegades Return, Will Play in Choctaw Stadium
ARLINGTON, TX – February 22, 2024 – The Arlington Renegades of the United Football league (UFL) will revert to their original Dallas Renegades branding and relocate to Choctaw Stadium in Arlington, the team announced today. the move marks a full-circle moment for the franchise, which initially competed as the Dallas Renegades in the now-defunct XFL before being revived as the Arlington Renegades following the merger of the XFL and USFL to form the UFL.
The rebrand and venue change signal a strategic shift for the team as it aims to capitalize on the established recognition and fanbase associated with the “Dallas Renegades” name. the team’s return to Choctaw Stadium, formerly AT&T Stadium, provides a larger capacity and a more prominent location within the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. This transition impacts fans, players, and the UFL’s overall market presence in North Texas, setting the stage for increased visibility and potential growth as the UFL’s inaugural season approaches on March 30th.
The original Dallas Renegades were a charter franchise of the XFL in 2020, playing their home games at Globe Life Park. Following the XFL’s bankruptcy, the team was resurrected as the Arlington Renegades for the 2023 season, achieving a 4-6 record and ultimately winning the XFL Championship.
“We’re excited to bring the Dallas Renegades back to North Texas fans,” said a team representative. “This rebrand honors the team’s history and provides a strong foundation for future success in the UFL.”
The UFL’s inaugural season will feature eight teams, combining the best of the XFL and USFL. The Dallas Renegades will join the Houston Gamblers, birmingham Stallions, Memphis Showboats, Michigan Panthers, Ohio Force, DC Defenders, and St. Louis Battlehawks in competition. The team’s schedule and ticket information will be released in the coming weeks.
