OpenAI Expands ChatGPT‘s Capabilities with New integrations and Autonomous Features

OpenAI announced notable updates to ChatGPT‍ at its Developer Day, aiming to broaden the AI model’s functionality and accessibility. The company revealed‌ that⁣ ChatGPT now boasts 800 million weekly users, with a paid subscriber base ‌of five million companies⁢ and ​institutions.

A key announcement was the launch of the Apps SDK, enabling ChatGPT to connect with and utilize a range of third-party applications. This allows users to perform tasks like streaming music, booking travel (flights, hotels, and real estate), and designing graphics directly within the ChatGPT interface. Initial partners benefiting ⁤from this integration include Booking.com, Canva, Coursera, Figma, Expedia, Spotify, ⁤and Zillow – companies whose stock prices ‌saw a positive reaction to the news. uber ⁢and AllTrails are slated to join the program later this ‍year.

beyond integrations, OpenAI⁣ is ⁣enhancing ChatGPT’s autonomy. ⁤users⁢ can⁢ now customize the ​model by defining their ​technical skill level,creating⁣ a more personalized and capable AI ⁢assistant. This allows ChatGPT to independently analyze data, initiate further research, and implement solutions to complex‍ problems.

OpenAI also highlighted the increasing cost-effectiveness of using ChatGPT. The company reports a 42%⁢ reduction ⁤in ​inquiry costs compared to conventional AI models over the past year,and a dramatic 95% decrease ⁤for advanced⁢ models.

The Developer‌ Day event,attended by over 30,000 developers (predominantly male),showcased these new features and ‍provided a platform for further exploration and learning. Notably, the Apps SDK is currently unavailable to users in Europe.
