CHICAGO – A warm front will bring temperatures into the low to mid 80s today, but a cold front is poised to sweep through the Chicago area, bringing the potential for afternoon rain and thunderstorms. Residents should prepare for a meaningful temperature drop early next week.
The approaching cold front marks a shift in Chicago’s weather pattern, following a stretch of warmer conditions. While today’s highs will reach the low to mid 80s, temperatures will plummet to the upper 60s on Tuesday as the front passes. The chance for showers and storms will linger through tonight and into early Tuesday before skies begin to clear.
Looking ahead, Wednesday and Thursday will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 60s. Friday will see a slight warming trend, with temperatures approaching 70 degrees. The weekend forecast currently indicates continued sunshine and highs in the mid 70s.
