BUCKHANNON, W.Va. - West Virginia Wesleyan volleyball standout Bhrooke Axe has been named the Mountain East Conference (MEC) Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced monday. The award,presented by The Health Plan,recognizes Axe’s dominant performance in recent victories for the Bobcats.
Axe, a junior from York, Pennsylvania, spearheaded West Virginia Wesleyan to wins over the University of Charleston and Glenville State. She recorded 11 kills in a five-set triumph against Charleston and followed with nine kills in a three-set sweep of Glenville State.
Currently, Axe leads the MEC in hitting percentage and ranks second in kills per set for the 2025 season.
This marks the fifth week of the 2025 MEC Volleyball player of the Week awards. previous Offensive Player of the Week honorees include Chloe Thompson and Joey Borelle (Sept. 8), Joey borelle (Sept. 15), Camryn Matus (Sept. 22), and Cami Black (Sept. 29).
