Pakistan Receives Initial Bids in 100,000 Tonne Sugar Tender
Hamburg, germany – October 7, 2025 – Pakistan’s Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has received initial bids in it’s international tender to purchase 100,000 tonnes of sugar, according to European traders.The lowest price offered in the tender, which closed Monday, is currently assessed at $533 per tonne, cost and freight (c&f) included.
While offers are still under consideration and no purchase has been finalized, the TCP is expected to engage in negotiations over the coming days before making a final decision.
The tender calls for small/fine or medium grade sugar,as part of ongoing efforts to bolster domestic supplies and stabilize local sugar prices. All sugar is expected to arrive in Pakistan by November 15th.
Trading house ED&F Man submitted the lowest bid, offering 29,500 tonnes of small grade sugar at the $533/tonne c&f price point. The company also offered $549 a tonne c&f for an additional 25,000 tonnes of small grade sugar. Two other trading houses also participated in the bidding process.
