Poznań Airport Anticipates Passenger Surge⁢ as ‍wrocław Airport Closes for major Renovations

POZNAŃ, ⁣Poland – Poznań Ławica Airport is poised to benefit from the month-long closure of Wrocław Airport, beginning October ⁢26th and‍ lasting until December 4th. The closure is due to significant⁤ investment in the airport’s‍ external⁤ infrastructure, including the construction of a new runway exit, preventing all air operations during the period.

Wrocław Airport served over 520,000 passengers in August, a record‍ achievement, and reached over ‌2.8 million passengers year-to-date – ⁤a 16% increase compared to last ⁢year. The closure will redirect passengers from lower Silesia and the Lubuskie Voivodeship to alternative‍ airports, with Poznań expected to‌ see ‍a ample increase in traffic.

Airport officials at Poznań Ławica anticipate a significant influx ‍of passengers as ‍travelers ‍seek‌ connections from ⁣the Greater Poland region. This growth comes as Poznań Airport is ⁣already on track for a potential⁤ record year, aiming to exceed ‌4‌ million passengers served annually. The strong performance in August has brought this goal‌ within reach.
