Werner, 37, emphasized the need for peak performance from his team, stating, “Dortmund is very stable. We must reach our maximum performance level. That applies to all parameters – tactical, mental, and in terms of play. We must be top in all areas; that is the standard we are setting.”
Werner’s absence is a blow to Leipzig, as the 29-year-old had just returned to Bundesliga action following a prior injury. in addition to Werner, veteran Kevin Kampl, 35, will also miss the match due to illness. The team will need to overcome these absences against a strong Dortmund side looking to maintain their position in the league standings.
