Córdoba Province Ministry of education Prioritizes Student Well-being with “Edualud” Health Days
Córdoba, Argentina – the Córdoba Province Ministry of Education is actively promoting holistic student progress through a series of comprehensive health days, dubbed “Edualud,” focusing on vital aspects of well-being beyond academics. A recent event held at the Zorrilla School underscored the program’s commitment to equipping students with practical self-care tools and fostering a supportive educational community.
The Edualud program, operating under the Sub-Directorate of Healthy Educational Environments within the general Directorate of educational Welfare and the Secretariat of Institutional Strengthening and Higher Education, addresses key themes including healthy eating, physical activity, oral health, positive relationships, the connection between music and health, and digital well-being. It is part of the broader Biencba provincial Program.
“It is essential that the school is a meeting space, dialogue and collective growth,” stated Juan José Castellano, General Director of Educational Welfare. “These types of days are a unique opportunity for the integral development of students, where they learn about self-care, connect and feel part of a broader educational community.”
The initiative aims to empower students to share these health practices with their families, extending the program’s impact beyond the classroom. Roberto Romero, coordinator of the Edualud program, explained that the day-long events involve technical teams providing students with “tools for self-care that they can than share their families.”
Candelaria Arana, director of the Zorrilla School, emphasized the value of the interdisciplinary workshops offered to students in the first and second cycles. “It was an extremely enriching experience, in which an interdisciplinary team of professionals shared their knowledge through dynamic and participatory workshops,” she said.
Arana further highlighted the program’s broader impact on the educational landscape, noting that these spaces “not only convey knowledge linked to body care, food, prevention, links and integral well-being, but also generate awareness about the importance of building healthy lifestyle habits from childhood… [and] strengthen the pedagogical task and invite us to rethink school as a place where life is educated in all its dimensions.”
The Edualud program was represented at the zorrilla School event by Roberto Romero and his team of professionals, alongside Director Arana. The Ministry of Education’s ongoing commitment to the program demonstrates a proactive approach to fostering a generation of healthy, well-rounded students in Córdoba Province.
