Brive Claims Bonus-Point Win Over Oyonnax in Pro D2 Clash
Brive overcame a challenging first half to defeat Oyonnax 33-18, securing an offensive bonus point in a Pro D2 match at Amédée Domenech stadium. The victory elevates Brive to the top of the Pro D2 standings wiht only one defeat in their initial block of matches.
Oyonnax initially dominated, capitalizing on early opportunities with tries from Bouraux (5th) and Morland (39th), supplemented by BourauxS penalty kicks (12th, 16th). Brive responded with a try from Dridi (23rd), narrowing the gap before halftime.
The second half saw a dramatic shift in momentum for Brive. Dridi scored again (46th), followed by tries from Tuivuaka (50th) and Coletta (58th).Da Silva added a final try (72nd) to secure the bonus point. Oyonnax’s Vaotoa received a yellow card during Coletta’s try,leaving them shorthanded.
“The match is far from over,there will be a reaction after half time,” stated Brive third line Kevin Lebreton at halftime,foreshadowing the team’s comeback.
Brive’s win marks their third home victory of the season, while Oyonnax continues to struggle in the league standings.
