Free Flu Vaccines ⁢Now ⁢Available for Young Children as Part‍ of Expanded NHS Program

The ‍National Health ​Service (NHS) has begun rolling out free flu vaccinations to eligible children, prioritizing those most vulnerable as the flu⁢ season ​approaches. Children‍ who were two or three years old on August 31st, 2024,⁤ are now entitled⁢ to⁣ receive​ the vaccine. Older children will be offered the flu vaccine at school.

This expanded programme aims to⁤ protect young children,who are more susceptible to serious‌ complications from ⁣the flu,and to reduce the spread ‍of the virus⁢ within⁤ communities. Eligibility is being ⁤staggered to ensure those at highest risk are vaccinated first. Parents and‍ guardians can find ⁣more information and book appointments on the NHS website​ or through their ‌general practitioner (GP).
