Priscilla Presley Details Discovery of Elvis‘s Infidelity in New Interview
Paris – Priscilla Presley revealed the moment she discovered Elvis Presley’s infidelities in a new interview with Paris Match, coinciding with the release of her memoir, “Softly, As I Leave You. Confidences of the only King woman.” the revelation offers a poignant glimpse into the challenges faced during her marriage to the music icon and provides context to their eventual divorce. Presley’s account arrives amid renewed interest in the Presley legacy following the passing of her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, in January 2023, and underscores the complexities of life lived in the spotlight.
Presley recounted a period when Elvis began spending time at a house in Palm Springs, California, as a respite from his Las vegas residency. Weekends were often spent there with friends and their wives, creating what she described as a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. However, it was during a routine check of the Palm Springs residence that Presley stumbled upon evidence of Elvis’s affairs.
Before the arrival of guests one weekend, Presley took it upon herself to ensure the house was tidy, cleaning the pool and generally preparing for visitors. As she was leaving, she decided to check the mailbox and discovered a letter from a woman expressing gratitude for a pleasant encounter and anticipation for a future meeting, writing, “I had a great time.Thank you very much. I can’t wait to come back. You were wonderful.”
Confronting Elvis, Presley said he dismissed the letter as coming from a fan seeking an autograph. However, she found his clarification unconvincing.”I absolutely didn’t believe it,” she told paris Match.”I thought it was time to leave him as I couldn’t bear it anymore. I no longer trusted him. He behaved like a man in front of too many temptations…”
Despite the heartbreak, Presley expressed enduring affection for her ex-husband. She noted that their relationship flourished after their divorce, characterized by frequent communication and a deep connection. “Our relationship was never as lovely as after our divorce,” she shared. “I have never stopped loving him, even today. He was a splendid human being. He had a great sense of humor. His laugh was contagious.”
