CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Teh Atlantic Coast conference boasts significant portrayal on the 2025 Jason Witten Collegiate man of the Year Watch List, announced today, with 13 student-athletes from ACC institutions recognized for their excellence both on and off the football field.
The prestigious watch list, comprised of 67 players nationwide, honors college football players who distinguish themselves through courage, integrity, and exemplary sportsmanship. this recognition underscores the ACC’s commitment to developing well-rounded student-athletes who embody leadership qualities extending beyond athletic achievement.The award, named for former NFL tight end Jason Witten, celebrates players who demonstrate a commitment to community service, academic excellence, and on-field performance.
The ACC honorees include: Jude Bowry (Boston College, OL, R-Jr.); Jeffrey Johnson (California, TE, R-Sr.); Tristan Leigh (Clemson, OL, Grad.); Chandler Rivers (Duke, CB, Sr.); Luke Petitbon (Florida State, OL, R-Sr.); Francis Mauigoa (Miami, OL, Jr.); Will Hardy (North Carolina, DB, Sr.); Isaiah Shirley (NC State, DL, R-So.); Eli Holstein (Pitt,QB,R-So.); Derek McDonald (Syracuse, LB, R-Sr.); Sam Roush (Stanford, TE, sr.); tyson Flowers (Virginia Tech,S,R-Jr.); and Nick Andersen (Wake Forest, DB, Sr.).
Each nominee was selected by their university based on their demonstrated leadership in athletics, academics, and community involvement. The selection process will continue with the declaration of 20 semifinalists on October 14, followed by three finalists on December 15. The 2025 Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year will be revealed at an awards ceremony on April 16, 2026, at The Star in Frisco, Texas.
