Backyard Wave Pool Sells for $15 Million: Inside the Secret Arizona Project

$15 million Backyard⁣ Wave Pool – Proven Concept – Now For Sale in Arizona

Prescott, Arizona – A fully patented and operational wave pool, built in the backyard of a private residence in Prescott, Arizona, is now for sale for $15 million. The Wave Source, the company behind the innovative‍ pool, is offering the initial “proof-of-concept” build to fund larger, more‌ accessible projects, aiming to disrupt the ⁤increasingly high-end wave pool industry.

The pool’s origins are remarkably grassroots. Co-founder Ash, who owns the land‍ and‌ access to water, recounts the project began with a simple drawing on a piece of cardboard in a Phoenix sandwich shop. “It was literally a piece of cardboard,” ash said. “That’s how it all started. It was like that classic thing you see in movies.”

Despite both⁣ Ash and another co-founder being severely dyslexic, they prioritized securing ⁤patents before beginning construction. This unconventional ⁤approach, combined with a cooperative ⁣agreement ‍with the city, allowed The Wave Source to⁤ build the pool in just two months.

Professional surfer Ben gravy was among‌ the first to experience the pool, initially⁣ skeptical⁤ based on photos. He quickly revised his⁣ opinion, describing it as⁣ a “massive layout with 3-4ft perfect waves pumping through on command.” He‌ lauded the founders, Tony, Ash, and Justin, ⁣for‍ their achievement.

The Wave source intends to continue selling wave pools, but‍ with a ⁣focus on affordability and accessibility. Ash expressed concern about⁢ the direction of the wave pool market, stating, “We ‌don’t ‍want to do $150-$200 million pools…When did ‌surfing need a Louis Vuitton store‍ next door to the wave? That’s⁤ what it’s coming to in this industry. It feels like ⁤the culture is being lost. It’s about the wave when it comes down to⁣ it.”
