Marco Borsato Denied Discreet Court Entrance,Faces Media Scrutiny Similar to Ali B,Thijs Römer
Utrecht – Marco Borsato will likely face the same intense media presence as Ali B and Thijs Römer when he appears in court on Tuesday,October 28th,after reportedly requesting a separate entrance to avoid photographers and camera crews. The court has indicated it will not accommodate the request, aiming to project neutrality.
Borsato’s legal team allegedly asked the court to allow him entry through a “back entrance,” according to Bram Moszkowicz, who stated he heard this from a “reasonably reliable source.” However, private investigator Evert Santegoeds clarified in the podcast Strictly private that the current intention is for Borsato to enter through the main entrance.Santegoeds explained the court is wary of appearing to grant special treatment, stating, “The lawyers can ask for a special treatment, but with that the tone is set a bit and the court would give the impression that Marco will indeed receive special treatment and that is all they wont to prevent.”
The situation echoes the experiences of Ali B and Thijs Römer, who both navigated large groups of journalists during their legal proceedings. Santegoeds noted that while individuals like Holleeder have used back entrances for safety reasons, that justification doesn’t apply in Borsato’s case.”I just think he should be about that square just like Thijs Römer and Ali B,” he said.
Colleague Jordi Versteegden questioned the necessity of the request, suggesting Borsato could address the media directly, stating, “What does it really matter? As Marco can also just walk forward sympathetically, say ‘guys, I’m going to tell my story in court.'”
Santegoeds anticipates Borsato’s family will accompany him to court, possibly to project a unified front despite their separation. “I also suspect that they will be there in Utrecht. that is not yet promised, but I do think that they want to radiate that. For the image it would be very good if they make it clear that they are separated, but still operate as a family.” Versteegden predicted the family would appear together.
