ISSSTEP Hosts First Congress of Emergency Medicine,Prioritizing Critical Care Advancement
Puebla,Mexico – The institute of Social Security adn Services of workers of the State of Puebla (ISSSTEP) launched its inaugural “First Congress of Emergency Medicine ISSSTEP 2025” on September 26th,bringing together over 500 healthcare professionals for two days of learning and collaboration. The congress aims to enhance medical expertise and strengthen clinical practices in the treatment of critically ill patients.
The event, held at the miguel Martínez Villalpando Auditorium, draws participants from diverse backgrounds including general practitioners, specialists, interns, residents, and medical, nursing, and paramedic personnel representing various academic and healthcare institutions.
ISSSTEP General Director,Luis Antonio Godina Herrera,emphasized the Institute’s commitment to both patient care and professional growth,stating the congress demonstrates ISSSTEP’s evolution into a leading training and leadership center within the healthcare landscape. He underscored the interconnected nature of emergency medicine, describing it as an “ecosystem” integrating technical skills, preventative measures, collaborative efforts, and compassionate care.
The Congress has received academic accreditation from both the Mexican Council of Emergency Medicine (CMMU), awarding 9 points towards certification and recertification, and the University of Health of the State of Puebla (USEP), granting 10 curricular value points.
Dignitaries present at the opening ceremony included Nayeli Salvatori Bojalil,President of the health Commission of the State Congress; Celso Enrique Cortés romero,Director of the BUAP School of Medicine; Yaneth Martínez Tovilla,Secretary of research and Postgraduate Studies of the BUAP; José Luis González Castañeda,regional Counselor of the CMMU; luis Alberto Arriaga Lila,Deputy Director General Medical; and Juan Gregorio Montero García,Director of the Specialties Hospital.
This initiative aligns with the social bioethics framework championed by the Government of the State of Puebla, furthering its commitment to accessible and high-quality healthcare for its citizens.
